Instructional coaching
Observation and feedback cycles, child study, and diagnostic work with student learning that strengthen teachers’ judgment and confidence.
MONTESSORI · LEADERSHIP · STRATEGY
I partner with education leaders to develop teachers, design effective programs, and build the leadership and systems that sustain their mission.
Meaningful change happens when educators have room to think, leaders have a trusted thought partner, and an organization’s values show up in everyday practice.
WHAT WE CAN WORK ON
Every engagement begins with your context. Together we identify what needs attention, what is already working, and the next useful step.
Observation and feedback cycles, child study, and diagnostic work with student learning that strengthen teachers’ judgment and confidence.
Executive partnership, strategic advising, focus-setting, and hands-on implementation when schools or education organizations need experienced capacity.
Montessori program development, curriculum alignment, organizational systems, and the practical structures that help a mission take root.
Workshops on math and literacy progressions, student work, classroom culture, and shared priorities that teams can put to use right away.
HOW I WORK
Montessori is a living practice. I help teams balance purposeful choice with clear learning progressions and a strong classroom culture. The same respect for people guides my work with leaders and organizations.
Begin with the actual work: the environment, the people, and the patterns that emerge.
Use evidence and dialogue to make sense of what matters, without reducing people to a checklist.
Choose practical moves, learn from them, and build the capacity to keep improving.

ABOUT RACHEL
I’m a Montessori educator and education executive with more than two decades of experience across public schools, nonprofits, and national education initiatives. I bring strategic judgment and hands-on implementation to the same table.
My work has included executive leadership at DC Wildflower Public Charter School; campus leadership, Child Study, and instructional coaching at Lee Montessori; and curriculum and technical assistance with Education Development Center. I also co-founded (R)evolution Montessori and have served on Montessori school boards.
I hold an AMI Elementary diploma and an AMI Certificate in School Leadership, an EdM in Technology in Education from Harvard, and an AB in Psychology from Dartmouth. I have also completed courses in Harvard’s Certificate in School Management and Leadership (CSML). I believe the best support is rigorous and humane: attentive to evidence, honest about complexity, and built with the people who will carry the work forward.
CLIENT PERSPECTIVES
The most meaningful measure of this work is what a team can carry forward.
How you showed up -- that was fully up to you ... you showed your character ... present[ing] such positivity, collaboration, and focus on students. But you're really an educator & human of the highest caliber. I knew that before, but now I really know it.
